Europe Trip: Italy - Florence

Florence is the capital city of the regions Tuscany of Italy. I still remembered that it was my bday when we were at Tuscany and I, in particularly had a memorable (cum embarrassing) Tuscany dinner. Three tour groups, about 80-90 people sang the bday song to me. What a shame! - Not as if I was celebrating my 21st.

That aside, the must place to visit in Florence is definitely the Piazzale Michelangelo. We enjoyed a breathtaking and magnificent panoramic view of Florence from the square.

It is compulsory to take a picture here.

After viewing Florence from the top, we zoomed down to Piazza del Duomo. This is a square which one can find many "duomo" is a generic term for "catherdral". We visited Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, Giotto's Bell Tower, Baptistery of St. John, Museo dell'Opera del Duomo and many more.

Here's a picture of il Duomo.

The Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge) in the day - over the Arno River. The picture look just like a postcard, especially the reflection of the buildings on the river. Along the bridge, there are so many goldsmith shops.

A picture taken at the Piazza della Signoria with one of the numerous statues.
