Korean Variety Shows
It was the time of the year again that I work from the China office. And it was also the time when the rest of the colleagues were taking siesta and I had time to blog.
I was hooked on to Korean talkshows airred by KBS. I have always like to watch "Happy Together" (해피투게더), Taxi, now, I have another favorite one, that is, "Moonlight Prince" (달빛프린스).
The theme of these korean talkshows are often realistic and yet hilarious. The hosts and the special guests are often comedians.
Happy Together 해피투게더
It is one of the most popular talkshows in Korea. I don't know why they don't broadcast this in Singapore. Anyway, the hosts and the guests will dressed as if they are in a sauna and the setting of the show is always in the sauna.
Moonlight Prince 달빛프린스
The format of the talkshow is unique. Just like a bookclub. The theme of the episodes depends on the book selected, ranging from adolescence to investment. The guests and the hosts will talk about their experiences based on the books. During the course of discussions, the hosts cracked jokes and the jokes were really funny and smart. The thing about Koreans is that their jokes were never low class, and I found myself laughing out loud most of the time because I could relate to their jokes, since the talkshow topics were often realistic and close to the heart.
