Yes, its Zoo again!

Going to the zoo is almost like visiting Barracks (my favorite restaurant in Singapore). Ok, maybe I am exaggerating, but… but…that is the life of a mother.

Zoo is nothing big to me, but it means a great deal to Ziv, a place of great delectation. Children are easily satisfied, as long as they see the familiar animals such as elephant, tiger, zebra, lion etc, it made their day just being in the Zoo with them.

Unlike the first time where we visited the Zoo with my neighbour, the weather was disappointing; however, at least it shined later on. That sort of made the Zoo trip kind of complete.

And may I present the boys. They finally made some physical contacts after almost 2 years of orientation.

Jayden is still pretty reticent, whereas Ziv enjoyed being called, “Ziv kor kor!” Even at this point of time, he still shy away, grins at the ‘promotion’ of being a kor kor.

Ziv loves water.

So E, what's next? Bird Park?

First day of new job and Taipei Trip

It wasn't really long since my last day at EDS.

Where we still had fun at Sakura, a massive farewell party for about 4 of us in the group. On 17 August, there were a total of 6 staff left the company on the same day.

Well, its time to embrace the new job. What is there to embrace?

People strolled in to the office at about 10am. I reached the office at 9am and almost thought I came in on a weekend. We shall see, more updates on the new stint.

By the way, Taipei was great fun. We practically splurged on every thing from the flight via SQ to lux hotel, Grand Hyatt. Within the short 3-day trip, the money spent is beyond our understanding.
We spent about 600sgd during the first 3 hours at the wholesale centre (straight after we touched down, and took the MRT).

I turned on the TV everyday to learn about the catastrophe that plagued Taiwan, it was sad. It had turned to become a political issue rather than a natural disaster. I know, some people are to be blamed, for playing MJ throughout the night, let's just hope that it is a lesson learnt for the Taiwan govt.

More pics on Taipei, not really alot, since this is a hardcore shopping and feasting trip.

Meeting with J and S

Initially it was dim sum, then it got postponed… J needed to work on weekend, and then Kevin’s turn to work.

It was an arduous mission to organize a get-together, with 2 busy men.

However, I’m glad we made it. And finally…

On National Day eve, J, S and our family revisited Jones at Dempsey Hill. We love Jones because we can dress casually and loaf around without being glower at from the servers that translate, “Aren’t you guys done?” at some Lucullan level restaurants.

I had the usual Salmon dish, and Kevin the usual enormous brunch set. Ziv finished off his muffin for the first time, it must be good, cause the boy is quite an epicure despite of his age, of course not including Macs.

Anyway, here are some precious moment shared with J and S. We love hanging out with them, and towards the end of the luncheon, we were invited to their abode at The Arc, the views surrounding the house was breathtaking, if not for the haze, we can oversee Malaysia.

Nevertheless, I present the smiling Ziv. Its hard to capture moments like that, because he always smile after the flashlight. I must salute to J, either he has a good camera, or he has fast finger!

Actually behind all these pictures, J was making funny faces and playing toy car with Ziv. He knows how to make pusillanimous boy let loose.

Addicted to iPhone S

I am utterly hooked to my iPhone S, obviously, still wide awake downloading applications at this time. Got it a day before heading to Taipei, thanks to my buddy, Jo, that I could beat the long queue before I can grab my very own iPhone S.

Verdict? I have to agree with Apple that this is the most powerful phone ever! Everything is fast, net surfing is so much convenient, downloading my yahoo mail is a breeze, sync-ing is speedy, download applications is quick, gprs is almost effortless... whoever got it will certainly love it!

The Tradition

Travelling in between job swtich seemed to be a tradition for me. And this time there is no different. I will be off to Taipei for a few days for some sort of shopping retreat with Kevin. For bulk purchase, you know what number to dial. Hehe...

What a Hack!

Today is the first day of our supposed-to-be minor renovation work on the master bedroom toilet. Look at the pictures! How minor can this be?

Renovation work is devastatingly pestiferous especially when we are already living in the house. The hacking of the tiles contaminated the air we breathe; and the floor turned scuzzy!

It should take 2 days before the flooring can be done and I can’t be bothered to clear the debris today. After the renovation, I faced another problem. How am I going to put the clothes back up the shelves again? Damn!

My Farewell with EDS

The departure gets tougher as the day draws near.

I couldn't wait but to send out the farewell email a day before my last day. Just to see the replies. My favourite part of the depature.

***********

Hi colleagues and friends,

Tomorrow will be my last day after an eventful and challenging year at EDS. I would like to sincerely thank each and every one of you for every valuable experience accumulated, friendship made, opportunity offered and good times shared during this one year.

I am honored to have been through the commissioning of the first project milestone of SOEasy and some serious friendship blossomed from the late night work.

I think everyone has the mentality that the grass is always greener, and here I am, crossing over to the other side of the fence, and hoping that it is a green pasture. I count myself lucky to have something and someone to make saying goodbye so difficult and well, a farewell is necessary before we can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetime, is certain for those who are friends.

To you-know-who-you-are, let’s continue our gossip at

Celeste Wong
P.S Am sending this out a day earlier, cause I don’t knw when I will part with my laptop.

***********
I hate to say goodbye.

House Hunting

For the past two months, we underwent full fledge house hunting, relentlessly. And quite frankly speaking, it’s a pain! Pain in the A.

On-going terms (not monetary) negotiation with a penthouse has been laggard and desultory. We were at the verge of throwing our towels and calling it quit!

It is clearer now that we will be moving out on the December month and with the tug-of-war between the penthouse owner, we may not be able to move in until March next year.

I hate house hunting.
