Public Holiday means Fun Day

Hello, its me, Ziv the feature writer for this blog. Mummy claimed that she is busy and so I will blog on behalf of her. Pardon me for my spelling mistake, cause I am only 15 mths 2 wks.

Today, Mummy and Daddy brought me to the Botanical Park - Children's Park Jacob Ballas. If I am not wrong, the park was named after a type of orchid. Apart from Mummy, Daddy, the usual 'suspects' are here too, aka, Aunty Emily, Uncle Dylan and didi Jayden.

Anyway, Mummy woke up at 830am this morning to prepare sandwiches. I asked her, why she did not ask aunty to do it, she told me, she preferred to do it herself, aunty is quite 'dirty'.

She made ham and cheese sandwiches, low fat tuna mayo sandwiches and boiled egg for me.
We were all confused about the carparks and ended up reaching fashionably late... and Mummy framed me by letting me wear long pants in this unbearably hot weather. She explained that she feared that there will be mosquitoes.

Sorry, no pictures taken during our picnic, cause all the hungry adults started eating as soon as the mat was laid. I don't understand adults, they seemed so hungry. They didn't even bother to check if it was pigeon "xu xu" (urine) that wet the mat, they just continue eating. Eating seems everything to them. :- For me, what matters most will be... BUBBLES. And stupid Mummy, spilt the whole bottle of bubbles and soaked her bag. So see, no BUBBLES, no FUN. What I could do is to look at other people playing bubbles from afar...

Anyway, it is already a fact that BUBBLE will never exist in today's outing, so I decided to walk along the lake and ponder why Mummy is so careless.

After a good half an hour of eating (non-stop) for the adults, finally we set off to the park. That was the time when both Jayden and I were waiting for. Can you believe it? The adults even wanted to eat the eclairs & durian rolls! Luckily they didn't and decided to save it for much later.
Yeah! The journey begins...

The park was relatively small. Nothing really interest me, except the mist station. Wooo... what a nice way to escape from the scorching sun...

Oh, being a affectionate boy, I love all sorts of soft toys and today I met 3 new friends. I gave each of them a hug and a kiss.

The day ended having us all warm and sweat drenched through our skin. I don't know what time we left, but Mummy was asking Daddy to drive her to the nearest MAC for some coke. I went home, played for 1 hour and fell into a slumber. I woke up 3 hours later.
After porridge, Mummy and Daddy brought me to Terminal 3. Sian... the same place again. I have been there 3 times! They are so boring. We had dinner at the Swensen and then hang around the airport. Running and playing hide and seek.

After that, we went to Ah Ma and Ah Gong's house. Sat there for 1 hour and went home.
Here's a picture of my best friend, Coby. He likes to burst my bubbles.

Mummy attempted to take a picture of me and Coby (seated close together). She failed... badly. I hope she did not see my mouth, cause I just stole a sip from her glass of watermelon juice.

I have a fun-filled event today. How I wish every day is a holiday so Mummy and Daddy can bring me out frequently so that I can also eat french fries everyday.
Yawn... I am so tired now. Zzzzz...
Good night.
Ziv

Botak Ziv & Coby's Birthday Post

Not Botak Jones. Its Botak Ziv.

Finally pluck up the courage to shave Ziv's hair.
For $20, it is what you get.

Here goes:

Our big baby, Coby turned 4 on 1st Aug 2008. As usual, we bought his favourite snacks and whatnot from US Bakery, and of course, the birthday cake! Unfortunately, it wasn't a whole cake (like every other year) cause there were all sold out for the day. Nevertheless, Coby enjoyed his cake very much.

Happy Birthday to my 1st Baby!

Fri, Sat, Sun

*****
Friday was Kevin's birthday. He is 29 this year. His birthday often fall on Friday the Thirteen. I brought him to Jaan on Thursday for dinner. Jaan is a swanky restaurant, 741ft above sea level, tucked at a corner of the 70 th level of Fairmont Hotel (then: Swissotel) with breath-taking views of the cityscape beneath. Unlike Equinox, Jaan is more exclusive and there are only about 10-15 tables in Jaan. The service staff are all very professional, polite and I rate them 5 out of 5!

Appetizer: Roasted Quail With Foie Gras And Black TruffleRaspberry And Red Currant Glaze

Kevin and I had Grilled Wagyu Sirloin and Maine Lobster 2 Way respectively.
The Sirloin of the size of one standard size snicker bar cost $120!

*****

This weekend is a bustling one.

However, I deemed that this Sat was a bad one. Unfruitful for all the outings.

First, it was Gymboree, in the morning. Gymboree III started at 930am and as usual (i.e late again) we reached at around 10am and that would mean Ziv has only about 15minutes to play with the other kids. :- I attributed our lateness to Kevin for he over-slept and the mysterious CTE jam, apparently, there was no accident and only road works by the road shoulder.

Later in the evening, we planned to meet Emily at Gogobambini at Dempsy. Alas, they closed at 8pm (so early for a Saturday! Duh!) and I reached there at about 715pm. Yet again, Ziv was restricted to play until 8pm. And yes, I didn't check their opening hours.

Every cloud has a silver lining, feeling despondent about the lack of play time at Gogo, we saw Ben's and Jerry's right beside it. Soon, the thought of having ice-cream waffles wiped out all my despondency.

What is wrong with Sat?

Well, at least the camera did not fail me, here are some pictures taken at Gogo.

Seems like baby Jayden wasn't ready for the snap, but his Daddy was all smiles.

Sun was slightly relaxing, no more hectic class to attend, and Ziv slept till 10am in the morning. Had a late breakfast and headed to the salon to straighten my tresses. Kevin dyed his hair ASH. Hehe...

******
Recently, I have been busy about Ziv's birthday party, which is like 1 month away. Busy writing and mailing invitation cards.

And last Sat, we bought him a car from Toy'r'us. From the picture, one can definitely tell that he loves the car very much. Ziv would keel over with laughter when he saw me preparing the car for him to sit on. It's hard to separate him with the car for the first few days.

Even Coby is fascinated about the car.

It's been a long long time since I update about our first SON, Coby. Yes, he is still very active and naughty and playful. Here's a picture of him, striking a pose (or not) to act cool. After organizing Ziv's birthday, it will be Coby's turn. His birthday is on the 1st Aug. I have to buy him a birthday cake specially for doggy and a human edible birthday cake to celebrate at my mum's place. Am still thinking very hard, on what to buy for him as birthday present.

From June to August, its all about birthdays.

Coby, I still love you!

Animals are our Best Friends, Don’t HURT them.

“You have your family, friends and relatives, but I only have YOU.”

Recently I was doing a project on Pet/Animal abuse and abandonment. Obviously, that would mean I have to do lots of research on this topic. I have gain more insights through reading several touching articles of animal abuse and abandonment and the above line touched me tremendously. It’s true. Pets are lonely. Their only hopes and dreams are you, the owner.

I read that many people are actually “potential” abusers; it is just that these people are too ignorant to realize that. For example,

Do you keep your pets are home alone for more than 12 hours?
Do you always keep your pet in a small and filthy cage?

If all the answers to the above questions are “YES”, then you are a potential abuser, I suggest you to do some reading online. There are several good resources like SPCA, ACRES, PETA, ANIMAL AID etc…

Of course, not only pet owners can be pet abusers, people without pet can be one too.
Examples of pet abuse will be animal testing, animal furs, leather and skin, trapping animals for food (sharkfins, dog meats etc) and more…

A personal story to share, I used to like rabbit fur for scarves and bags and I have shoes made of horse fur. I thought fur is a symbol of elegance. Unknowingly, I have actually contributed to the demand of animal fur product and apparel causing fur-bearing animals to die. Do you know how those despicable people obtain fur? I got this from furisdead.com,

To kill the animals without damaging their fur, trappers usually strangle, beat, or stomp them to death. Animals on fur farms may be gassed, electrocuted, poisoned with strychnine, or have their necks snapped. These methods are not 100 percent effective and some animals "wake up" while being skinned.

Stop buying fur, use faux. And it looks just as nice as the real ones. Knowing how animals are killed for fur, makes the real fur looks cheap because it degrades your characters, displaying your ignorance of the cruelty in the fur trade.

Personally, I am a pet owner, my dog, Coby is a 1 year plus (going to 2) Silky Terrier. After reading so many about animal abuse, I feel that I am not a good owner, there’s much improvement which I can do to make Coby happier. Coby is a very active dog, he is very mischievous and because I love him so much that it becomes a bit spoil. I always tell myself, Coby’s life span is only 12-15 years, I must make him enjoy all the 12-15 years because I love him. Imagine this, $800-$5000 enables you to buy the life of a pet, isn’t that so unfair if you ill-treat the pet?

Think again, human life is priceless, but lives of these innocent animals are tagged with a price.

Silky Terrier

No matter whether you are a pet owner or a non pet owner, an animal lover or someone who has “no special feelings” towards animals, YOU CAN HELP in one way or another to relief these poor animals from pain and fear.

Waking up...

Waking up in the morning is a mission-almost-impossible task for me. I am so lethargic… all because of COBY, my 6-mth old silky terrier. Coby will always wake up earlier than me or rather us. Yesterday at around 5.30am, Coby puked and I have no idea what had happened to him. I’m relieved that he is hale and hearty running around in the house in the morning. I will post the picture of my naughty baby soon…
