Behind the Scene of Chinese New Year Collection I

The effort behind each Moda Shoppe's launch is tremendous. From choosing the right apparels, write-up, shooting, picture editing to composing post (of course there are more to these), C and I barely sleep more than 5 hours a day before each launch.

We are often jaded after shooting, however, there are also heaps of tasks to complete...

Here are some behind the scene pictures.

Testing out the studio lighting with C. Half of my body is invisible :P. Both of us happened to wear the same cardigan from MS. Do we look lethargic? C was the photographer for this launch.

Moda Shoppe’s Festive Season’s Collection II

Yayyy... We are launching again this Friday at 8pm. I am exceptionally ecstatic because we injected lots of creativity and imagination into this launch. In this Festive Season's Collection II, we have nice dresses for parties and casual gatherings, versatile reversible top and pants. They are perfect for Christmas and New Year.

In fact, its been a while since we last launch bottoms or rather pants. C and I fell in love with the pants at first sight and hence, we decided to try our hands at selling them.

Also, I guess alot of people noticed that our pictures are nicer and the lighting is better. That's because we switched studio! Our model, Winnie looks ravishing in the pictures!

It's 2:30am now. And time to sleep.

By the way, C and I bought almost bought the entire collection from this launch. It is so so so so so hard to resist. That's how shopaholic we are.

Can you hear the jingling bells?

The Christmas lightings along Orchard Road, the Christmas carols played on the radio stations, the Starbucks Christmas takeaway cup that I drink every morning, the chilly weather we have these days… it’s hard to not realize that Christmas IS coming soon.

I am still contemplating if I should get a real Christmas tree from the nursery or bring out my gothic dark purple Christmas tree and start decorating it.

That aside, in fact mainly, I am busy with Moda Shoppe’s festive combo launch. As Moda Shoppe has become part of our lives and also for the fact that we treat our customers like our friends, we decided to have a combo sale specially for our customers, just like we give out presents to our friends during Christmas.

And I have to say, it is heartwarming to share what you like with your friends.

I love my Cut Out Collar Mini in grey. Wore that to Disneyland. I always like a one-piece dress, cause I don't have to worry about what to match for the bottom. Especially on trips, cause you don't have the time to stand in front of your overflow wardrobe to mix and match.

Pair it with a jacket and you are ready to go! (Jacket from Forever 21)
Crochet Trapeze Mini is another one item that I wore it to Disneyland, Kin's birthday at Taste Paradise and even to Equniox lunch. Didn't take much pictures of me wearing that... But I have a pic of C wearing that to a 5-star hotel in HK to celebrate her wedding anniversary with D.

A casual Friday in the office, pair the popular Beaded Tank Top with my H&M vest and Levi's super skinny jeans. Cindy had the Stripe Long Cardigan on to keep her warm in the office.

Here's a preview of the combo sale for our customers. The combos are mainly from our first few launches, because we left with 1 pc each for these items and so I thought, why not we have a throat slashing sale and give fantastic discounts (combo can be as cheap as only $18 and discount up to 70%!

Limited combo so grab them while you can!
I am still deciding when to launch the combo... probably this Tues or Wed.
Stay tune!

Moda Shoppe Launch Preview

Because we have people tell us they want to have a sneak preview of what we are launching, so now, we decided to have a preview image prior to the launch.

Lots of togas which I really love. I have seen toga tops and dresses all over the display windows of those shops at Ion, Wisma and Taka. They are so hot, hot, hot!

I can't resist wearing this toga piece before the launch! Brillant piece, comes in 2 colors.

The Fall Forward Collection at Moda Shoppe

A week before the Moda Shoppe launch is typically a bustling period for me. There are so many things that we have to look into, especially maintaining the quality of the apparels. We have to do shooting, writeup, web design and other marketing planning. Despite of feeling drained and heavy-eyed at work, I am always happy to rhapsodize about the latest happening at Moda Shoppe in this blog.

In fact, we took a long hiatus from the previous launch because we made plans for the next one year, which includes the implemented membership program, other new marketing plans as well as manufacturing our own design.

Although Moda Shoppe is a cheechako in this blogshop sphere, we are dogged to make Moda Shoppe a prominent blogshop label.

By the way, I am thrilled about this launch because the apparels are so lovely and trendy that I decided to own about 80% of the launch items! I am almost confident that our customers will love them!

Stay tune! 8 Sep, Wed, 1pm.

Moda Shoppe Summer Launch - Behind the Scene

For the past one week, I have been working diligently, juggling two jobs. My day job and my blogshop business. So does my partner C.

Instead of modeling the clothes ourselves this time round, we decided to engage models to do the laborious job for us. I am confident with the clothes that we brought in, because they are SUMMER clothes. Summer clothes for the all year round summer Singapore.

Having models posing for the pictures is not making us hollow, in fact, we have to constantly give sedulous attentions to tiny details such as creases and shooting angles.

And to be frank, Kevin often wonders, is Moda Shoppe a business or just personal shopping spree. Since I bought almost all the clothes we launched. Poor, Kevin, because I don't have an answer too!

I looked forward to some really good food tonight to celebrate the launch this morning (11am).

Some behind the scene pictures. Of course, that's me, the one in grey.

Moda Shoppe

It is OFFICIAL. I am now a co-owner of the blogshop, Moda Shoppe.

Moda Shoppe launches its first collection with a blast today. The response was in fact overwhelming (for me) even before the launch, given the amount of work that I have to complete on my task list.

So how it started??

C, who just came back from her stock collection armed with goods from Seoul and Hong Kong approached me to join her in setting up a blogshop. I was apprehensive and I was afraid of being wearisome because there is certain amount of commitment to set up a blogshop. I could not give her an answer. And so, I decided to help her out for free and at the same time, test out the market. I modeled for her, designed a blog for her, tried some marketing for her… The more I get involved, the more I thought, ‘Why am I doing all this for free?’ and so, yesterday 12:30am, I sms-ed her, “I am IN.”

And that’s it.

It can be a simple sms, but it means a great deal to me, because it connotes that I have to devote more time on maintaining the business whether it is going to be a lucrative or an unprofitable one. Kevin told me nothing is 100% profitable and I have to be mentally prepared for the loss.

And to me, it is ‘you never try and you will never know’.

And because it was a first launch, many items were priced at a reasonable rate and the postage fee was waived off for the month.

Track Back

Last week was a bustling week for me. We did shots, we did website, we did launch party, we did many things that not a lot of people can do within a week, from the point where C asked me to join her to the day of launching, it took only 6 days for us to prepare for everything. I was eager to know the results and so to decide if I should give it a go, however, I made the decision before the launch, just to be fair to C.

Those who understands me well, knows I am a mad person. I push for crazy deadline because I want to know the outcome FAST.

I am too worn-out to blog more.

Here’s some pictures of the shots. Personally, I had lots of fun from the photoshoot and best of all. I have to thank C for giving me free clothes, even though I am her partner now. She gave me free clothes in exchange for the services I was providing her before I said "Yes" to her.
