A day where everything else doesn’t matter…

… since I failed my driving test.

I never think that I will pass for my first attempt. But I just don’t think I should fail today. But I willingly accept the fact.

@#$%^&*()$^&@#$%^&*()@#$%^&*()@#$%^&*()

I am always careless, but this time I really really did check my blindspots, check the traffic conditions ahead of me and filter to the next lane without causing any disruptions to the traffic. Why do I still fail?

I should have terrorized the tester in this manner.

Why I fail? (According to the tester)

- I did not check my blindspots. (I thought I really did, if not, how do I filter lane, do turning without checking??!!)

- I turned the steering wheel while the vehicle is in stationary position. (I always do that during my driving lesson and no one say anything about it.)
- I stopped at the second stop line of the pedestrian crossing, tester insisted I should U-turn despite the blinking green arrow. (I know this may be my fault, but as a driver, I should be able to judge myself on whether I am confident in doing a U-turn in such short timing. If I don’t think I can, then why should I risk? Yes, I may be affecting the pedestrian a little, I admit its my mistake, but I don’t wish to create an accident while U-turning. For this I admit, I am SUAY. Just SUAY.)
- I drove too fast. (How fast can that be? That area always has lots of car, and to speed up while filtering is what I was taught! I mean how fast can I go? 110km/hr?? !@#$% I should have do a e-brake to scare the shit out of him.)
- Incorrect braking. (What the hell is incorrect braking… tell me… did I press the accelerator when I suppose to step on brake?)

If I mount kerb, hit kerb, killed someone during my test (I wish it’s the tester), I can really tell myself, I deserve to fail. But I cannot accept things like that can cause me to fail.

In the fit of anger, I booked another test date. We shall see.

Anyway, its heart-warming to have colleagues, ex-colleague sms-ed me before the test. I feel better even though I failed.

The day before I [PASS/FAIL] my Driving Test

Somehow I started to feel nervous today. I am usually not the kind of person who will fret over exams, interviews or a 5-dai MJ game. But somehow, I get a little nervous today.

I could be giving myself too much pressure to pass…

I keep telling myself I cannot fail.
SSDC will no longer be located in AMK as they are shifting to Woodlands.
I must pass for the first time.
Everyone I know pass on their first/second attempt. (Including my family members)
I must get a license.
Everyone in my family and in law family has a license, except me.
I don’t want to wait for another 3 months for the next test. – Can you imagine spending so much money within the 3 months (of waiting) on practical lessons, each lesson cost me $80! I rather use the money to buy a license in a 3rd world country!

I am going for a final practice today, hopefully tomorrow I will heng heng, get assigned to the simplest test route and the most lenient test instructor.

Keeping my toes and fingers crossed for that.
Will reveal my test result tomorrow.

If I ever pass, I will throw the driving license on Kevin’s face. He thinks I will fail. (Actually, I quite agree with him…)

Dong dong dong chang!!!!!!

Chinese New Year is just a month away. Have you lighten up your mood a little day by day to enjoy this traditional festive season? I certainly do. That would also mean, I HAVE NO MOOD TO WORK. (that is not a declaration...Hahaha……)

I always like CNY. I think it’s special, heart-warming and it’s all about gathering and more gathering. I may not like to see the faces of some relatives, but they are still, afterall, my relatives, so I have no qualms about seeing them just once a year. Anyway, CNY is the best time to give you more excuse to buy clothes and snack more without feeling a tinge of guilt.

This year is a special year for both Kevin and myself, cause we are giving out red packets! Maybe we are first timers, so it’s natural that both of us are excited. Maybe that excitement will last only for one year, cause I believed the “aftermath” of all the “red packets giving session’” will not be that fun. Maybe I can get the $$ back next year *wink wink*

In preparation of the coming of CNY, I have come out with a to-do list:
1. Engage a spring cleaning company (sadly majority have been fully book for the month of Feb, sorry Kevin, you will have to do it if I can’t get one to help us)
2. Buy a new sofa (Bought)
3. Buy dinning table/chairs (still finding…)
4. Buy my favorite CNY goodies for myself, parents and in laws – ba qua, love letter (from Begawan) and macadamia nuts.
5. Get Coby a red red tshirt
6. Buy CNY clothes (I haven’t even start buying, how can?!)
7. Tidy-up my lashes
8. Keep my xmas tree or I will hang ang baos up on the tree (kekeke…)
9. Stock up my fridge with lots and lots of food (since I don’t see myself going out so often, it is a must to stock up food since all the food will be snatched up during eve.)
10. Monitor my own diet during this period, eat healthily. I shall not over-eat.

The barbie doll was a little regret I had for last year. I should have bought it to add on to my collection, but I didn't. WHY??!! Anyway, no more regrets for this year. I will buy whatever I like.

Are you ready for Chinese New Year?

My Tarot Card

'Lucky cum Industrious Cactus' was at home studying, so she introduced this tarot reading site to me.

Here's my reading,

(I just don't understand how come the Empress look like a witch to me, scarry isn't it?)

Here's my reading;

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.
The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.
The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

My first dinner for the Year 2007

I have always believed in having sumptuous and lavish dinner on 1st Jan to kick-start the New Year. We therefore arranged a dinner celebration with Emily and Dylan.

It’s my first time dinning at Shangri La - The Line.

Tell you, the buffet spread was superb! I couldn’t care more about the alarming amount of calories or cholesterol I was putting into my mouth…

They have what we all expected; such as fresh lobsters, crabs, salmon sashimi, shark fin soups, sushi, tim sums, pastas, pizzas, meat and more meat… and the unexpected; local delicacies - laksa, wanton noodles, kway chap (can you believe it?), assorted roti prata, satays, candy floss, crepes, sorbets etc…

Irregardless of whether they are the expected or the unexpected, I devoured them all especially the seafood, but of course I am not so dimwitted to eat local delicacies, can eat them anytime during lunch, duh!!

We drowned ourselves in the goodness of food for 3 hours… but don’t get me wrong, only one of us was eating. I called myself, Kevin and Emily the ‘fast and furious’ eaters while Dylan is the ‘slow and steady’ eater. I should work towards that direction in future.

Anyway, Kevin mentioned something very realistic; the price we paid for the buffet reflects the type of people that we will see in the restaurant. True enough, no kiasu aunties, no yelling babies, no uncles with shorts and hairy legs, no sign and sounds of flip flops, no children playing with cutleries or their favorite hide ‘n seek, no diners trying to juggle plates with a mountain of food, etc...

We had an extravagant and ‘peaceful’ dinner at The Line. Until now, I still miss the fresh crab claws and lobsters… awe…. I will be back!
