My New Year’s Resolution

Today is the last day that we bid goodbye to 2007 and embrace the arrival of 2008.

What is 2007 to me?

My 2007 Round-up

- I finally got my driving license!
- Coby was diagnose with cataract. :(

- I entered another phase of married life (i.e motherhood), becoming a mother. Being a mother means, less couple time, less about myself, giving more to Ziv. Being a mother means, I have one more present to receive for the upcoming year, which is on Mothers’ Day.

2008 Resolution

- Shop less, Spend less. Kevin joked that Ralph Lauren should seek Ziv as their model cause I bought so many of their polo t-shirt for Ziv.

- Stop taking cabs. Everyone knows about the recent cab fare hike. One word to describe this: R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S!! Such audacious fare hike is as good as daylight robbery and then beat you half dead. Booo!! In fact, to kick start my resolution, I took MRT from Orchard to Ang Mo Kio today to meet Kevin. He was surprised, cause its been like 2 years since I took MRT. Needless to say, I do encounter some uncivilized commuters today, but hey, it is still bearable compared to contributing to the cab companies. I need to be complimented because I was standing all the way from Orchard to AMK lugging 5 big bags and one handbag.
- Get the Chloe padlock bag! Chloe has finally come to Singapore!! I am ecstatic!! It is a must-have for all fashionistas!
- Earn more money. In order to earn more money, I think I have to look for more job opportunities. Hopefully this new coming year, will mean new job and new pay!
- Pole Dancing lesson. I was enthralled by the pole dancing skills in one of the Taiwanese variety show hosted by Jacky Wu. Those Taiwanese women can swing round and round to the music! Almost every Sunday, Kevin and I will try our best to tune in to the pole dancing competition.
- Spend more time with Coby. With Ziv’s arrival, Coby is very much neglected by those who used to love him. I must spend more quality time with Coby, sleep with him once a month.
- More couple time. 2007 is the year we try to adapt to our new life with Ziv. Kevin and I are more or less, adapting to it now. Hopefully, the new year means more couple time, maybe we should try and commit to a common hobby (not shopping).
- Holiday. I should try going to some nearby countries with Ziv.

With the new year coming, I hope the upcoming year will be a blissful one for all.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Xmas Party @ Home

Pressies for Ziv...

A mini accident happened when we handled the log cake...
The pretty gals... weee woooo weee.... I was hugging Ziv's favourite toy. (He cheated his Daddy in buying the toy for him... Long Story)

5mth old Ziv and Coby are the 'central attractions' of the xmas party.

Oh, did i mention? Snapping a pic with Ziv is the most challenging task!

Of course with all the shouting... "HEYS", "COBY", "BARNEY", "BABY"... we managed to get him to look at the camera. Best part? I wasn't prepared!

Oh yes, not forgetting the presents to exchange.

Hosted a xmas party lunch at home today. It sort-of becoming a "tradition" now to gather all friends at my house, though to many, my house is off the beaten track.

We let loose!
We raised the roof during the presents exchange!
We feasted!

My friends have been a wonderful company. It's nice to catch up with friends, snatch presents from them etc.

This year is special cause of the additional member of the family, Ziv. I wonder if we have more mini members by next Christmas since, both Cindys are married. We shall see.

After the party...

After a few minutes...

Sanobar

Company event at Sanobar, One Fullerton. Had a whale of a time.

Quite fun and entertaining especially the belly dancing item...

Some colleagues can be really fun-loving. So don't judge a book by its cover. You never know, when these people will surprise you with all sorts of ermmm... DANCE MOVE.

GROOVY!!

After the event, went for the movie premier of National Treasure 2. Nice show. Should go and catch it. 3.5 stars out of 5 stars.

More Ziv

It's 2am now. Sorting some of Ziv's photos and found some interesting ones took a few days ago.

To take a picture of Coby and Ziv is the hardest thing!!

New walker for the boy...

Bedtime... Zzzz

STOKKE Stroller was recently recalled, luckily ours was not affected. Was quite disappointed with how the SG branch handled the recall, no one called us even though we are not affected, I only got to know about the recall from internet. I have to check myself to see if my stroller was affected based on the information online.

Spent $1.8k on a stroller and this is the after-sale service we get?!

Dining at Equinox

On a lighter note, I took a half day off yesterday to dine with my parents and Kevin at Equinox.

Yesterday was the 5th time I went to Equinox for the year 2007. I must be a FREAK to go there so many times.
I ate 4 plates of foie gras (my favorite). - which is 4 X 2 = 8 pcs

A blurred image of foie gras...
I don’t understand why they increased the price for the buffet since they only added roast turkey, ham and one log cake to the buffet line.

The standard of their foie gras dropped tremendously, it was previously cooked by a China chef now was an talkative Indian chef who kept talking to his colleagues ended up having long queue at the foie gras counter. The way he cooks it, SUCKS! Ruin my favorite food.

After the heavy meal, I went to Orchard alone for Christmas Shopping Part II. Bought some more gifts for colleagues and my gift exchange on the 23rd.

Hopefully walking around means burning off more calories. I also bought a Lacoste polo T for Kevin.

Went home and suddenly realised I have missed out someone in the office, I think I need Christmas Shopping Part III. Should write on a 'To Buy' List!

ME TO SPONSOR ALL-WOMEN MOUNT EVEREST? DREAM AH

RIDICULOUS! WE HAVE CHARITY DRIVE SEVERAL TIMES A YEAR ON NATIONAL TV, WE HAVE SEVERAL FOUNDATION AND ORGANIZATION RUNNING CHARITY EVENTS YEARLY, AND NOW THE PUBLIC ARE ‘ENCOURAGED’ TO SUPPORT THE ALL-WOMEN MOUNT EVEREST TEAM BY DONATING TO THEM SO THAT THEY CAN FULFILL THEIR DREAMS WHICH IS CLIMBING THE DAMN ME?! WHAT KIND OF STUPID EXCUSE IS THAT, YOU TELL ME?!

(ALTHOUGH THE WORD ON THEIR WEB WAS 'SPONSOR' BUT I THINK IT HAS NO DIFFERENT FROM 'DONATE' CAUSE ULTIMATELY, IT IS STILL TAKING OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY)

LOTS OF QUESTIONS IN MY HEAD NOW…

WILL THEY DIE NOT CLIMBING THE ME?
WILL THEY EARN MONEY BY CLIMBING THE ME?
ARE THEY THE ONLY PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD WHO CLIMB ME THAT MAKE SINGAPORE FAMOUS?

NO RIGHT?! SO WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL?!

AREN’T WE TAUGHT IN SCHOOL THAT TO FULFILL OUR DREAMS WE HAVE TO ACHIEVE IT OURSELVES AND NOT WITH OTHER PEOPLE’S HELP OR EVEN MONEY. WHERE DO YOU GET THE SENSE OF ACHIEVEMENT WHEN YOU KNOW YOU REALIZE YOUR DREAMS WITH OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY? AND BEST OF ALL, THESE PEOPLE ARE STRANGERS TO YOU!

EVEN PROSTITUTES NEED TO SELL THEIR BODIES TO GET PAID.

WHAT I MEAN BY THAT SENTENCE IS EVERYONE HAS TO GIVE UP SOMETHING TO ACHIEVE THEIR DREAMS. WE NEVER SEE POOR BEETHOVEN BEGGING ON THE STREET OR CREATING WHATEVER ‘SPONSOR US’ WEBSITE TO REALIZE HIS WONDERFUL DREAM. I MAY BE HARSH HERE, BUT THIS IS LIFE. LIFE IS ABOUT REALITY.

WE GIVE MONEY TO CHARITY, TO THOSE LESS FORTUNATE, CAUSE THEY HAVE MENTAL PROBLEM, NO MONEY TO BUY MEDICINE OR UNDERGO MEDICAL TREATMENTS, JOBLESS DUE TO PHYSICAL HEALTH… ETC

CAN SOMEONE TELL ME, WHY THESE WOMEN DESERVE OUR HELP? MIND YOU, THEY ARE ALL WELL AND ABLE WOMEN.

NOW WHO IS GOING TO HELP ME FULFIL MY DREAM? I WISH TO BUY A BIG BUNGALOW WITH BIG GARDEN AND THE REASON FOR THIS IS BECAUSE COBY CAN RUN AROUND THE BIG GARDEN AND ZIV HAS FRESHER AIR TO BREATHE IN EVERYDAY. (IS THIS WISH ‘HEART-WARMING’ ENOUGH TO WARM UP YOUR HEART OF CHARITABLE?)

DONATE TO MY BUNGALOW DREAM ANYONE? (ADAPT FROM THEIR WEBSITE)

EVERY BIT MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN THIS IMMENSE PROJECT. DO EMAIL ME IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP IN ANY WAY. I THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

Calories Overloaded December

I have this love-hate relationship with December. I lurve December cause this is the only month where I have valid reasons to indulge in good food irresponsibly, but after each calorie-packed meal I am often so guilt-ridden that I vowed to go on a diet the very next day. So that is what ‘Decembermeans to me.

This year is definitely no-exception for me; in fact, this year’s munching schedule is more action-packed and calorie-packed than any other years!! Cannot imagine me scoffing food voraciously!

Started off as early as 8th December!

Pic: My unique 2-year old Christmas Tree was set up since end of November. Can't wait for Christmas to come.

8-Dec – Gigi’s (maid) birthday
Started off with something ‘light’, fish n chips @ Swensen, of course not leaving the restaurant without ordering their specialty ice-creams!

13-Dec – My own version of “Thanksgiving Day” for my parents
Took half day leave from work to thank my parents for taking care of Ziv while both Kevin and myself are working. Yes, they nagged relentlessly, they annoyed us, still, they are always there to help me when I needed them. So to show my appreciation, I decided give my parents and Kevin a treat at Equinox Swisshotel The Stamford. Needless to say, this meal will burn a big hole in my pocket even though I am armed with Raffles Feed card. Apparently, the reservation waitress told me the card was not ‘very useful’ during this festive season. Damn. But its ok, nothing beats enjoying a wonderful meal with a good view and company (I hope). Think free flow foie gras

19-Dec – Office lunch for Xmas and National Treasure II Movie Premier
Eat eat eat!! Another office gathering after the mini team building, this time, bolder and better. As of now, we have short listed a few dinning location, Sanobar, The Legends at Fort Canning and Hotel Intercon. Irregardless of location, I believe this lunch gathering will definitely make me feel that xmas is really coming.

21-Dec – Took leave
What happened when I take leave? Eat of course. To sort of celebrate Ziv’s 5 mth (although was on the 19th). Perhaps Sun with Moon with the little chap and his father will be good.

23-Dec – Party @ my abode
A gathering among my poly friends and their partners. This year we opt for catering rather than potluck, cause from experience, some people came empty handed, while some other people game with a container (shipping container I mean) of food. So to be fair to all and save the hassle, we shall have a caterer to solve the problem. At the same time we will have gift exchange :), my favourite moment of the party.

24-Dec – Xmas eve party and midnight mass followed by overnight mahjong
Party again, some home-cooked meal by MJ kakis, I suspect it should be spaghetti again. *roll eyes* What is a night of celebration when we have no mahjong?! After confessing at the midnight mass at St Anne’s, we will spend the rest of the night gambling. “PONG!!”

25-Dec – Christmas Dinner with In-Law
Can I say, ‘stop eating’? BURRPP, feel so overfeed typing the schedule, makes me think that I lead a glutton’s life. In-law has reserved three tables are Jade Room to treat about 30 relatives and friends for a sumptuous dinner.

28-Dec – BBQ @ Tua Pao’s house
Samuel aka Tua Pao, FBI (Fatty Brunei Intelligence), Ah Pui has reserved a BBQ pit at his abode. This is the 2nd BBQ of the year. Can’t remember when was the last one, I only remember I was so full that I wanted to vomit and I was still pregnant, going to due. This time round, it has more meaning, cause, this is sort of a gathering with Samuel and Hawke and others. Reunion night, I call it.

30-Dec – Not yet plan
Hope to meet up with a couple friend with their precious little one, Jayden. We’ll see.

1-Jan - My Ah Ma's Big Day (Birthday)
How can I not spend time with the sweetest ah ma on earth! Mum planned for a chalet, hopefully we can get one at Sentosa or East Coast. So more BBQ food...

I feel like I can gain at least 10kg with this kind of ‘feeding’ habit. Chiam.

Let’s track, I weigh 41.8kg today. Will I become 51.8kg to welcome the New Year?
I don’t waaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So many events, I bet Ziv must be very happy. He can go kai kai almost everyday!!
